Project Overview

The Union County Government Complex is a planned 217,000-square-foot civic development designed to consolidate County operations and public services in downtown Elizabeth. The complex will include two interconnected buildings organized around a landscaped public plaza, creating a centralized destination for administration, human services, and community-facing programs.

The planned Administration Building will provide offices, secure parking, and electric-vehicle charging stations, while the Human Services Building will house public-facing County programs near downtown transportation and parking. Curved lower-level façades, glass and metal exterior systems, landscaped gathering areas, and durable materials will establish a welcoming civic presence while supporting long-term operational needs.

Consolidated County Operations

The complex will bring administrative departments, human services, and public-facing programs together in one coordinated government campus.

Administration + Human Services

Two interconnected buildings will provide dedicated environments for County administration and essential services used directly by Union County residents.

Civic Plaza + Site Development

A landscaped public plaza, pedestrian-friendly streetscape, secure parking, electric-vehicle stations, and gathering areas will connect the buildings with downtown Elizabeth.
