Project Overview
The Peter P. Mercer Learning Commons transformed Ramapo College’s former George T. Potter Library into a modern center for research, learning, and collaboration. The project expanded the building from 60,000 to 80,000 square feet while upgrading its infrastructure and creating flexible spaces that better support students, faculty, and staff.
The completed facility includes state-of-the-art classrooms, technology and media resources, study rooms, special collections, collaborative work areas, and quiet study environments. A new café and terrace create an inviting campus entrance, while a glass-paneled oculus brings natural light through the upper floors and visually connects activity throughout the building.
Expanded Learning Environments
The renovation increased interior space to 80,000 square feet, expanded seating, and added 19 study rooms along with flexible classrooms and collaborative work areas.
Technology + Academic Resources
Modernized computer labs, media rooms, technology-rich study spaces, special collections, and research-support services provide expanded resources for campus-wide use.
Campus Connection
A new café, outdoor terrace, expansive glazing, and a central glass-paneled oculus create a welcoming gathering place filled with natural light and views of the surrounding campus.
