Project Overview
The Middlesex County Innovation Magnet School is a new career and technical education campus in Edison designed to prepare high school students for rapidly evolving technology, engineering, energy, and environmental careers. The approximately 78,500-square-foot vocational high school combines a new, freestanding career and technical education building with an addition and renovations to an existing building, creating a unified campus for specialized instruction and collaborative learning.
The project includes an approximately 41,800-square-foot building for career and technical education programs and collaborative spaces, along with a two-story, approximately 21,000-square-foot addition containing general classrooms, administrative functions, and cafeteria and food-service areas. The two buildings will be connected by a central entrance and circulation structure. Specialized programs will focus on sustainable construction and environmental technology, sustainable energy technology, logistics, robotics and drone technology, information and cybersecurity technology, and biotechnology and plant science.
Career & Technical Education
Specialized trade and technology laboratories will support instruction in robotics, drone technology, cybersecurity, biotechnology, plant science, sustainable construction, environmental technology, logistics, and sustainable energy.
Integrated Learning Campus
A new career and technical education building, classroom addition, renovated instructional areas, administrative offices, and cafeteria spaces will be connected through a central entrance and circulation structure, forming one cohesive educational campus.
Sustainable Technology & Design
Solar energy, reclaimed water, and an enhanced thermal envelope will complement the school’s sustainability-focused curriculum while creating a real-world learning environment for emerging energy and construction technologies.
