Project Overview

The Little Ferry Middle School is a new three-story educational facility designed to provide a permanent home for grades 6 through 8 while supporting the district's long-term enrollment and educational goals. Constructed on the former Washington Elementary School site, the new school replaces aging facilities with modern learning environments designed for collaboration, accessibility, safety, and hands-on instruction.

The approximately 64,000-square-foot building will accommodate 250-300 students and includes general education classrooms, science laboratories, specialized instructional spaces, a gymnasium, cafeteria with a full-service kitchen, administrative offices, a health suite, and support spaces. Site improvements include outdoor recreation areas, student gathering spaces, enhanced circulation, and secure campus access features designed to support both daily operations and future growth.

Modern Learning Environments

Collaborative classrooms, science laboratories, and specialized instructional spaces support project-based learning, small-group instruction, and evolving educational programs for middle school students.

Student Wellness & Recreation

A full-size gymnasium, outdoor recreation areas, student gathering spaces, health suite, and cafeteria with a working kitchen create a comprehensive environment that supports student health, wellness, and engagement.

Safe & Accessible Design

Enhanced security features, accessibility improvements, dedicated circulation areas, and durable building systems provide a safe, welcoming, and future-ready educational facility for the Little Ferry community.
