Project Overview

The George G. White Middle School project is a comprehensive renovation and expansion of Hillsdale’s century-old middle school. The modernization program will renew the existing academic building, improve safety and accessibility, replace aging building systems, and add instructional space to support future enrollment and educational programming.

The project includes a new two-story, six-classroom wing; complete reconstruction of the cafetorium; updated science laboratories; full HVAC replacement; new roofing, windows, doors, lighting, ceilings, flooring, and electrical systems; and renovated classrooms and restrooms. Exterior improvements include a reconfigured entrance with no-step access, enhanced security, and approximately 30 to 35 additional parking spaces. Students will attend classes in a temporary modular campus while the primary school building is under construction.

Expanded Learning Spaces

A new two-story wing will provide six additional classrooms, while renovations to existing classrooms and science laboratories will create modern instructional environments that support future enrollment and program growth.

Cafetorium & Arts Improvements

The existing multipurpose room will be demolished and rebuilt as a modernized cafetorium with an expanded stage, improved kitchen facilities, and dedicated instructional spaces for band and chorus programs.

Building Systems & Accessibility

The modernization includes complete HVAC replacement, new roofing, energy-efficient windows, upgraded doors and electrical systems, accessible restrooms, a secure no-step main entrance, and site and parking improvements.
