Project Overview
The new Woodrow Wilson School No. 5 is a 132,000-square-foot elementary school designed to serve approximately 850 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The four-story replacement school will provide general and kindergarten classrooms alongside specialized spaces for STEAM, visual arts, music, media, dining, athletics, and multipurpose programming.
Delivered through a design-build approach, the project brings DOBCO and NK Architects together under one contract to coordinate design and construction. The new facility is being designed to achieve LEED Silver certification and will help address overcrowding while providing Garfield students with a modern, sustainable learning environment.
Academic Learning
General and kindergarten classrooms, a STEAM laboratory, media center, and technology-supported instructional spaces will accommodate approximately 850 students in grades K–5.
