Project Overview
The Francis Lewis High School Annex expanded one of New York City’s most heavily enrolled public high schools with 555 additional seats and 18 new instructional spaces. The fully accessible, air-conditioned addition provides modern learning environments while increasing programming flexibility and helping reduce overcrowding across the campus.
Specialized facilities include a commercial-style culinary arts kitchen, science and research laboratories, a rooftop hydroponic greenhouse with an aquaculture system, locker rooms, and a multipurpose event space. Produce grown in the greenhouse can support culinary instruction, connecting science, sustainability, and hands-on career education. The annex officially opened to students in September 2022.
