Project Overview

The Cyber & Engineering Academic Center, officially named Goethals Hall, is a new 136,000-square-foot academic facility designed to advance engineering, cybersecurity, and interdisciplinary STEM education at the United States Military Academy. The center will bring the laboratory functions of the Departments of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and Systems Engineering together under one roof.

The facility will include 59 flexible laboratories, project fabrication areas, high-bay spaces with overhead lifting capabilities, conference rooms, workspaces, and specialized engineering support areas. Pedestrian bridges will connect Goethals Hall with Mahan Hall and the Math and Systems Engineering Center, strengthening West Point’s broader academic and innovation network.

Advanced STEM Laboratories

Fifty-nine flexible, high-performance laboratories will support engineering, robotics, cybersecurity, computer science, infrastructure, and interdisciplinary project-based learning.

Fabrication + High-Bay Spaces

Project fabrication areas, high-bay laboratories, overhead lifting equipment, workspaces, spray booths, and specialized support areas will expand opportunities for hands-on engineering and testing.

Academic Connectivity

Enclosed pedestrian bridges will connect the center with Mahan Hall and the Math and Systems Engineering Center, creating an integrated hub for engineering education, collaboration, and cadet study.
