Project Overview

The Bergen County Agency Building project delivered a new government office facility and supporting parking structure as part of the modernization of the Bergen County Justice Center Complex in Hackensack, NJ. Designed to improve operational efficiency, security, and public access, the project consolidated major county agencies into a modern facility while complementing the adjacent historic courthouse and justice center buildings.

The six-story, approximately 130,000-square-foot building houses the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, Sheriff’s Department, Surrogate’s Office, and other county agencies. The project also included a multi-level parking structure accommodating more than 700 vehicles, a secure pedestrian bridge connecting the new building to the Justice Center, and improvements to the surrounding government campus.

Government Services Consolidation

The new facility brings together multiple county departments under one roof, improving operational efficiency, interdepartmental collaboration, and public access to government services.

Justice & Public Safety Facilities

The building was designed to support the Prosecutor’s Office, Sheriff’s Department, and other county agencies while incorporating enhanced security systems, modern technology infrastructure, and secure staff circulation.

Campus Infrastructure Improvements

The project included a secure pedestrian bridge, structured parking for more than 700 vehicles, site improvements, and integration with the existing Bergen County Justice Center campus.
