A new era began on the campus of Ramapo College located in Mahwah, New Jersey with the start of construction on the transformation of the George T. Potter Library into a 21^st century collaborative space for research, learning and exploration.

The project addressed the infrastructure issue and increased the building’s interior space from 60,000 to 80,000 square feet. The project included an increase in its seating capacity by 65 percent, adding 19 new study rooms and flexible-use classroom space, and repurposing and modernizing computer and technology labs.

The American Library Association (ALA) has recognized the Ramapo College Peter P. Mercer Learning Commons in its American Libraries Magazine 2023 Library Design Showcase as one of the most impressive libraries in 2023.
